Colon cancer screening test ? Essentia Health | Anal Info

Dr. Natalie Bachir, an Essentia Health gastroenterologist, says you should get a colonoscopy at age 50 as a way to screen for colon cancer. If you have a family history of colon cancer or polyps, you should talk with your physician about when to get your first colonoscopy. Dr. Bachir says removing polyps in the colon can reduce the risk of colon cancer by 70 to 90 percent.
