According to American Academy of Dermatology malignant melanoma causes some 7500 death yearly

and rates are increasing.

The Merck manual states that skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the world.

In the United States alone, I out of 6 to 7 people gets one form of skin cancer or the other, and the rates is on the rise.

?The skin Cancer Answer? has it that ?50% of people who reach the age of sixty-five will develop some form of skin cancer.?

If one may ask, what are the possible causes of skin cancer?

Factors that contribute to skin cancer development are latitude, elevation,the amount of cloud cover,

the ozone layer and too much exposure to sun,this the main cause of skin cancer.

Other contributory factors are lifestyle. Life-styles have changed tremendously.

Outdoor recreations such as skiing and mountain climbing are now easily accessible,

including vacations in the beach.

Fashions are seriously contributing to skin cancer. Fashions has changed overtime,

in the past men and women use to wear long swimming costumes,

today swimming suits have become more skimpier, exposing more of the skin.

The way forward is to take necessary precautions in preventing skin cancer.
