US business leaders in Asia applauded the APEC business travel ...

Singapore, November 4, 2011/PRNewswire-USNewswire/?The Asia-Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce (APCAC), representing 27 on 21 economic AmChams, expressed appreciation to the u.s. Congress to pass legislation the Asia-Pacific economic co-operation business travel card (ABTC) in 2011.

"Part of this legislation sends a clear message that the United States is committed to strengthening the commercial presence in Asia. Access to business travel card will significantly increase the travel business, investment and trade opportunities for u.s. citizens in the rapidly growing economies in the APEC region, "said APCAC Chair Steven r. Okun.

Part of this Act prior to the APEC leaders meeting in Honolulu is a top priority for the APCAC.

Currently, the business people of 18 APEC economies are already using ABTC, including to enter the United States through a special immigration lanes. A law passed only allow philanthropic Americans to enjoy reciprocal privileges as the legislation allows the Department of Homeland Security to distribute ABTCs to u.s. citizens doing business in the APEC region.
