Finance broker charged on loan scam | Loans Information Blog



POLICE have charged Peakhurst finance broker Roger Morris over an alleged $500,000 luxury car and bulldozer loan scam.

The 57-year-old was last night charged with three counts of fraud, three counts of dealing with the proceeds of crime and one count of hindering a police investigation into serious frauds allegedly by an organised crime group.

Mr Morris is the 15th person to be arrested in relation to alleged scams targeting banks and other lenders.

He spent last night in custody and will apply for bail in a hearing at Central Local Court this morning.

His arrest follows investigations by Strike Force Apia, made up of detectives from the State Crime Command?s Fraud Squad. The strike force was set up four years ago.
